Causes and Tips for Removing Earwax at Home Instantly

WHAT CAUSES EARWAX TO BUILD UP?

HOME TREATMENTS TO REMOVE UNNEEDED EARWAX

We advise that you avoid using Q-tips or other swabs, and instead try the following home remedies to remove earwax.

SALINE SOLUTION

Saline solution is a superb alternative for removing earwax. All you have to do is dissolve one teaspoon of salt (7.5 grams) in cup of water (100 ml). Afterward simply soak a cotton ball in the solution and let a few drops fall into your ear while you tip your head to one side. Hold this position for some minutes to let the liquid penetrate the ear canal and soften the wax. Then lean your head in the opposite way and use a tissue to capture the liquid as it drains out.

PARAFFIN OIL

One of the most secure and best home treatments for earwax removal is paraffin oil, which is sold generally in most drugstores. All you should do is warm two to three tablespoons of this oil over a candle flame. Drop several drops in your ear and lie still for a few minutes. Afterward use warm water to rinse out any traces of wax. Do this for three days in a row to totally dissolve the build-up.

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

Combine equal parts of hydrogen peroxide with water. Make sure the hydrogen peroxide is the commercially available 3% strength assortment. Put a few drops in your ear and shake your head gently to let it penetrate the ear canal. Leave the drops in for a couple of minutes before tipping your head to the opposite side as the liquid drains out.

GLYCERIN

Glycerin is a natural product that helps soften earwax for easy removal. It’s possible for you to find it in drugstores and use four drops in each ear, three times a day for the most effective results.

VINEGAR AND ALCOHOL SOLUTION

Blend equal parts white vinegar and rubbing alcohol in a small bowl. Dip a cotton ball into the concoction and apply a number of drops to each ear. 

OLIVE OIL

Olive oil is just another excellent fixing which helps soften earwax and facilitate its removal. Place two or three drops of olive oil in the affected ear prior to going to bed, and try and sleep on the opposite side. Duplicate this treatment for three or four nights in a row.
